Catch-up schedules
If you or your children are behind, through illness, moving, or arriving from overseas, your GP can plan a catch-up. Bring whatever records you have, including from another country.
Travel consultations
Advice built around your actual itinerary: vaccines, malaria prevention, food and water precautions, altitude, and what to put in a travel kit. Plus documentation where a country requires proof.

Before your appointment

How far ahead should I book a travel appointment?
Six to eight weeks before departure is ideal, because some courses need several doses. If you are leaving sooner it is still worth coming in – a good deal can be done at short notice.
Are travel vaccines covered by Medicare?
Travel vaccines and the travel consultation are generally not covered the way routine immunisations are. Ask reception about costs when you book so there are no surprises.
Are vaccinations recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register?
Yes. Anything given here is recorded on the register, which is where your immunisation history statement comes from for childcare, school and work.
My child missed some vaccines. Is it too late?
No. Catch-up schedules exist for exactly this, and are available free under the National Immunisation Program for children and young people. Bring whatever records you have.
